A Focus on Cardiometbolic Health
Digital Education Series: Cardiometabolic Health
EDAN, in partnership with Med-IQ, developed type 2 diabetes (T2D)-focused education for people living with T2D and their caregivers. Using social media as a patient engagement platform, we partnered with five health content creators to host a live discussion with Dr. Jay Shubrook on the intersection of T2D and cardiovascular health.
Participants included Mila Buckley, Dr. Arti Thangudu, Mary Van Doorn, Kim Rose, and Dalina Soto, who joined Dr. Jay Shubrook—Professor in the Primary Care Department at the College of Osteopathic Medicine, Touro University—to discuss the connection between diabetes and heart disease. Topics included cardiovascular risk factors, advances in pharmacologic management, and strategies to improve prevention and early intervention.
During the discussion, participants emphasized the importance of understanding the full spectrum of diabetes and cardiometabolic risk, reinforcing that diabetes management extends beyond glycemic control alone.
